Food for overnight train-Hong Kong to Shanghai?

wired2theworld | Mar 11, 2015 12:42 PM

Next month we'll be taking the overnight sleeper train from Hong Kong to Shanghai. While I know there is a dining car on the train, I've read it is hit or miss in terms of quality.

If we wanted to buy some food for the train, where would be a good place for "to go" meals? Thinking maybe roasted meat/rice or noodles. Something that would still be ok for dinner (in terms of perishability) if purchased in the early afternoon.

Looking for a place either close to the Salisbury YMCA hotel or near/inside the train station.

Thanks!
