If you've read past posts, we are shameless fans of ZF&D. To our embarrassment, we realized we had not been back since the great ice storm last winter. Family members were in town last weekend, so we reserved a table for a long overdue visit. Place was jammed. Tom was in the kitchen, and he sent out some perfectly prepared dishes. The scallops were succulent and size of small tenderloins, served just this side of rare. There was a fried clam app lightly breaded with panko and served with a fiery sauce--best fried clams ever. We had some old faves and some new items--the red snapper was a standout. One of the things we like about Z is that the food always has inventive twists; for example instead of a bread basket, the kitchen sent out popcorn flavored with Asian five spice powder. Not to everybody's taste, but we liked it. FYI, they will be open for brunch sometime in the next couple of weeks. Also, the restaurant is expanding--taking over the storefront next door.
