Here's the thing, Chowhound readers: I'm new to the area, as previously mentioned. I know I have a lot to learn about surviving the summers in the valley (holy crap) and I don't think I'll ever understand why people can't manage to drive in what amounts to a spattering of rain. I'm ok with that, because I'm the new guy here.
That said, where does anyone go for reliable food reviews and recommendations? The few people I know out here aren't necessarily "foodie" types, which is fine. But coming from the ATL, which had quite a large and diverse food scene, the Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale/Mesa area just doesn't have quite the same coverage as we did back home. I've read Chow Bella on the PHX Sun Times (which is a horrible site btw - why is everything on 5 pages?), and some of those recos are decent, if not particularly well written.
Am I missing something? I'm not necessarily looking for super complex or expensive food - I'm just interested in finding some "go-to" spots for different cuisines. We've been here for almost a year, and I just can't seem to get plugged into the scene. Whatcha got, folks?
