I just wanted to post about a great Mexican dinner at Fonda Dona Maria in Houston. We went there this last weekend and had the carnitas and enchiladas verde with margaritas on the rocks. Everything was very fresh and well spiced. My husband thought the enchiladas verdes were the best he had ever had. The green sauce has a kick so beware if you are afraid of chiles. The margaritas had none of the gasoline smell that cheap tequilas can have and the mix didn't have the faint chemical taste. (They might actually use fresh lime juice). We thought they were as good as many of the top shelf margaritas and were a bargain at $3.50 a piece.
Decor is really fun with lots of bright colors and tile work aplenty. We went Saturday afternoon so it was fairly calm. I understand that they have mariachis during the weekend and the place really hops.
In short, this one made our definite return list.
