On the way to Yi Lan the other night I noticed a new hot pot place on Main Street, past the clump of Halal grocers and Afghan restaurants, down at the edge of civilization (joking) near the Queens Botanical Garden. It's called Shambala Tibetan Hot Pot, but upon procuring a menu, it doesn't appear to be Tibetan in any way, shape or form, but instead just seems to be your standard hot pot place.
We asked Cindy, the friendly waitress at Yi Lan Halal Restaurant, if she had heard anything about it, but she didn't seem to think it was anything of note. She also said she had heard that Baidu, which Lau wrote up, is the best (non-Sichuan) hot pot in Flushing:
