The Wine House in West LA has this Dallas-made brand in their freezer right next to (and even more expensive than) local fave Dr. Bob's, so on a whim I picked up a pint of Caramel-Orange Sorbet.
And, disappointingly, we found it relatively bland and excessively granular and icy.
But I've seen a few posts here over the years mentioning Out of a Flower as one of the very best ice cream brands in the country. So, did I just pick a lackluster flavor? Does it not travel well? Assuming it's worth trying again does anyone have specific flavor recommendations we ought to try? (Vanilla orchid ice cream sounds enticing, since that's one of our favorite New Orleans snowball flavors, but before I blow another fortune on a pint, I'd love to hear from others.)
