I think I've found a new favorite Asian place. We didn't get to sample an awful lot off the menu (there were only two of us) but what we had was quite good. We started out with the chicken satays, VERY hot and crisp from getting seared on the grill. They were accompanied by a very, very thick sauce with what seemed to be finely ground peanuts. There was one minor problem with this appetizer- they give you five of them. Five doesn't pleasantly divide into anything- you may have people fighting over the last one. For entrees, my companion got the Beef & Broccoli & Chicken & Mushrooms from the Thai section of the menu, and I selected the Basil-Soy Shrimp & Beef off the Vietnamese section of the menu. All were ridiculously good; enough so that I plan on heading back with a bigger group so we can get more tastes of the menu in one shot.
Notes on Flo's- all three of the Flo's restaurants have completely different menus. I'm sure that the quality is equally good at the Chinese Restaurant and Hong Kong Food Market locations, but I'll have to go try them out soon just to make sure. The Asian Kitchen location is on the southeast corner of Frank Lloyd Wright and Scottsdale Road, in what I am increasingly finding to be the finest strip mall in the entire city, with Flo's, Cost Plus World Market, Trader Joe's, In-N-Out, and Krispy Kreme (and more) all on one corner.
