I went to Florio last night to celebrate a friend's birthday.The place is owned by the same person who owns Enrico's. Both places have a similar slant to their menus, the emphasis being on French bistro food. Florio has received mixed reveiews due to lack of consistancy in the past so I sat down with some trepidation. My husband and I had to arrange the seating of successive guests(a number of whom were late) and the entree of the surprise Birthday cake. I was impressed with the assistance the Head of House gave us with both of these tasks, despite the fact that the place was really busy. So full marks for the service.As for the food it also met the mark. We had an appertizer of parma ham with blue cheese crumbles and fresh ripe figs..a simple but enjoyable combination. We followed with the roasted chicken for two and potatoes florio. All I can say was that both the chicken and vegetables were succulent and well seasoned. My husband and I licked our lips afterwards but thankfully we didnt need anymore as the serving was very ample.
