Miss Florence Diner re-opens

Vinny Clams | Dec 11, 2002 06:50 AM

Well, they re-opened the Miss Florence Diner after months of renovation. The report: NOT GOOD.

The interior remains similar with the exception of one of those gigantic 6 foot high glass dessert cases to display their towering over-sized merangue pies. Stupid, ugly, and a harbinger of the food to come..

The food is no better or inspired than the Friendley's across the street. Poorly made sandwiches with inferior bread, skimpy 2nd rate meat portions and limp pickles. When I asked for tarter sauce for my haddock, it was so old that the top had one of those yellow scum hardened layers covering the sauce. Yeech!

There are good diners and there are bad diners. This is shaping up to be one of the worst, which is too bad, considering that it once was a great place with good food.

Any other experiences?
