The "squid salad" at Floating Rock, a Cambodian hole in the wall in Revere, is outstanding. A beautifully prepared combination of perfectly cooked squid, red peppers, green peppers, onions, mint, crushed peanuts, hot peppers, and an excellent sweet dressing. It goes extremely well with a side of steamed white rice. I was floored by how good it was. Really.
Floating Rock, itself, is a tiny room with a large menu, full of many tempting options (e.g. catfish soup with young jackfruit and coconut). And the squid salad, which is all I had room for, suggests that the menu merits exploration.
Note: it is a VERY short walk up Shirley Avenue from the Revere T stop. Also, timid diners might be put off by the find the plain, hole-in-the-wall atmosphere and the location. But, they would be missing out.
