flat iron steak

I just got a great deal on a flat iron steak from my local butcher, it was abiut five bucks for just over a pound. That's good right? Anyway, I don't want to mess it up, so any suggestions would be welcome. I'd like to use it for more than one meal and my only thought are salt/peper/oil and into a hot cast iron skillet. Grilling is not an option. Should I do anything more? Don't really want to mask the clean flavor of the meat, but will welcome tips, especially re; cooking times. Thanks!
