FiveStar Range & Hood Vent questions (any owners out there?)

Hello all! My first post here...

Subject says it all (almost). Wife and I are in the market for a 48" stove for our soon-to-be-totally-overhauled/remodeled victorian townhouse. For the last few months I've been almost-blindly looking at the Wolf 48" only, but only recently became aware of the FiveStar line.

Any owners out there that can attest to the quality/durability of those stoves? I'm also interested in the dual-fuel model as well. The wife and I are still debating the open vs closed burners question.

Any caveats or quirks we should be aware of, if we go ahead with the FiveStar? Or any other stoves we should take another look at?

(One reason we are shying away from the Wolf - it seems like their price has shot way way way up in the last few months, and feel that the company is artificially maintaining a price premium on them as well)

Also, we haven't the foggiest idea where to start with a hood vent. The stove will be part of a 4 ft x 8 ft island, so we'd need an island hood. I've heard some people tell me I should get a 48" hood to match the stove, and others who tell me I need a 54" hood.

Having a good # of lights on the hood that I can control above the cooking area is a big plus.

Any particular brands/models I should check out? Also, internal or external blowers?

Thanks in advance for your help - we need to decide on the stove soon, and the hood even SOONER so our contractor can plan for it before drywall goes up.
