Fissler - Cookstar vs non-Cookstar base and Germany vs China

gotsmack | Nov 21, 201812:14 PM     2

Fissler has 2 bases, the Cookstar and the flat non-Cookstar base. I emailed Fissler asking if there was a difference and the response is "The only difference is the design. Both bases are induction ready."

I take this to mean that there are only cosmetic differences on the Cookstar base and smooth non-cookstar base.

The question becomes, if they're the same base, why spend the extra money on the Profi pans and not just buy other Fissler models at a lower price, provided that work is done to make sure those lines are made in Germany such as the Fiamma line (made in Germany) which is being cleared out. Or even lines produced for other markets that may be lower priced.

Also does anyone have any Chinese made Fissler (such as the Vienna line) and can they comment on how it compares to German made Fissler?
