Fish'n'chips @ Pann's: oink!

That's what sounded good to me today after a few hours shooting around Hermosa Beach: some kind of ocean fish, and darned if Pann's wasn't exactly on the way home!

Got my favorite pea soup (YUM YUM) for starters, and was asked if I wanted the BIG fish'n'chips or the smaller and cheaper Senior Special (I'm eligible, darn it). I got reckless and said, "Gimme the big one!" proving that age and good judgment don't always travel together. Well, the fish here is breaded, not battered, but it was really good if unorthodox, and I was given five fairly big pieces of cod. Fries were probably underdone for your taste; I like'em any way but raw or burnt myself. I like the coleslaw a lot even if it is sweet - and there's pineapple in it! - and though I've disparaged their corn muffins this one was fresh and went well with the meal. Good fresh-tasting iced tea, too. And the tartar sauce was great after I'd stirred in a few shakes of Tabasco...

This was an awful lot of food for an old overweight guy to be stowing away at lunch time, and next time I'll get the Old Folks version, but it was all very tasty, and well worth the total tab of $13.95. Not a classic fish'n'chips, which is what I really wanted, but it'll do, it'll do...
