I'm not a fan of their cookies or their american pastries, but I do like their biscotti. So last night, I decided to try some of the other fancier items.

I took home two eclairs and four cannoli. (Two regular cannoli, two chocolate-dipped cannoli). The eclairs are fantastic, full of a custardy, eggy, not-too-sweet filling, with crispy/tender/buttery dough and just enough chocolate frosting on top.

The cannolis are filled to order, and while we haven't had the chocolate-dipped ones yet, the plain shells were light and crispy, but didn't shatter to pieces, and weren't tough like some cannoli shells I have had around town. But the real wonder was the filling-- glossy, creamy, not curdy at all as some ricotta can be, and again, not too sweet. I think there's got to be some sour cream or creme fraiche or something in the filling besides ricotta and sugar-- it's too rich to be just the usual filling. These are excellent, and I will definitely be back to order cannoli for the next time we have people over. I don't know if they'll sell you the filling in a container for filling at home, but I'll definitely need to ask.

Now I just have to try the ricotta pie...
