finally...good thai in Pittsburgh

Typhoon on South Highland in Shadyside has been a delightful surprise. Beautiful surroundings, fresh ingredients, beautifully presented, crisp and balanced flavors with good heat. Almost everything I've had and stolen off of friend's plates has been tasty. The only disappointment being the flank steak with nam prik curry...oversauced and frankly overpriced. They also have a nice wine and beer list...I appreciate that they serve a favorite, Stoudt's Scarlet Lady Ale.

I also love Rose Tea Cafe on Forbes Ave in Squirrel Hill - Taiwanese food and all the bubble tea you can drink. They have a spicy beef with peppers that I absolutely crave. So fresh, spicy...mmmm. A Taiwanese chowhound friend swears by the place.
