FINALLY... Vietnamese in the East Valley!

PRSMDave | Feb 20, 200310:28 PM

One day, my wife was walking back to work from home and happened to look up at the Thai Cottage (on Ventura between Vineland and Tujunga, across from the Bally's Fitness).

She called me and said "GUESSWHATGUESSWHATGUESSWHAT! The Thai Cottage closed and it's now going to be Saigon Annie's! YAAAAAAAAAY!" (or something like that).

I happened to walk past today as they were re-roofing and it is indeed a Vietnamese place. The lady (I assume she's Saigon Annie) said they should be opening late next week. The menu is posted in the westernmost plate-glass window. Looks more like the former Asia Cafe in Burbank than Pho So 1 or Pho 999 in Van Nuys, but hey, it's Vietnamese and it's in Studio City!

Prices looked a bit on the high side, but I'm used to the pho houses of Rosemead, where prices are low because they aren't geared toward tourists or yuppies... and with gas prices the way they are, being able to walk there is a BIG plus.

I'm sure we'll eat there soon after they open, and I promise to make a full report then.
