OK, I appreciate all the defences of British cooking, and indeed, in various spots I've had lovely dishes that have demonstrated the possibilities. I've been to No 1 in Edin. I've been to various posh places in St Andrews that have made a nice meal. I've also had solid, if not remarkable pub fare at some places.

That all said, the food situation way up North feels bleak. I miss diversity. I want variety, I'd love if it were affordable, and I'd especially love if it were near (so Edin as a last resort; Dundee is the nearest city to me).

Can anyone help me to locate:
1. A polish store or restaurant (it is almost surprising to me that with all the Poles in Fife, I have not come across one).
2. An Ethiopian restaurant.
3. Any good East Asian and Dim Sum
4. Good South Asian (I do not accept the Balaka in St A as the best to be had).

Just anything that stops me from stuffing myself like a desperate starving person any time I head down to London, or visit family in various parts of the world. OK, I do intend to stuff myself silly wherever I travel, but something to make life tolerable. A variation on lamb, venison, haggis neeps and tatties, and a fish supper.

Oh,and if there's any decent pizza to be had....

Thanks!
