A first time poster here. I have gone through your FAQ's and still need help please.
My husband, mother and I are spending 2 weeks in NYC over Christmas/New Year.
We are looking for a festive restaurant in terms of decorations, ambiance, music and meal on Christmas Day/evening.
We would like a traditional American Christmas meal if possible as we have never spent Christmas in the US before.
I have read about Rolf's but having spent Christmas 2008 in Strasbourg and having a French mother who is an excellent cook, we would like to try something local.
We don't mind travelling and we don't mind how much it costs. My mother is not a huge seafood fan so that would be our only issue in terms of the meal.
We are considering Gramercy Tavern, Moran's at Chelsea and One by Land, Two if by sea. Has anyone dined at any of these restaurants on Christmas Day? Do any of these fit our wish list? How about hotels?
Any recommendations/advice would be greatly appreciated.
