Ferrari Ristorante

Cocoa Nutz | Nov 22, 200204:59 PM

I had dinner at Ferrari -- the old Marco -- last night. The food was superb. I had pasta & fagioli soup, and it was perhaps the tastiest and richest version of it that I ever had. Then for my main course, tagliatelle with duck. The sauce was sublime -- nice duck chunks in a rich brown sauce with hints of nutmeg. My dining companions were equally impressed with their dishes.

Inside, the place is unrecognizable from the old Marco, except for Marco himself and the same waitstaff. Decor is now much more elegant. Open-view kitchen, spotlessly clean (they invited us to walk through it). Prices are a little higher than at Marco, but not terribly so.

The place doesn't look open -- there's some weird canvas fronting on it that makes it look like it's under construction. But it's definitely open -- and it's excellent.
