FeldmanFest: Ferry Building/Farmers' Market report

Ruth Lafler | Sep 6, 200411:57 PM     1

We braved the heat and the holiday crowds at the Ferry Building Saturday with a rotating cast of chowhounds.

I'll let Dave give his impressions, but special thanks to Julia from Mariquita Farms for giving us an insiders look at the market and answering our questions about its history. Thanks also for the impromptu tomato tasting.

New to me was the "guest" cheesemakers booth, which features different cheesemakers each week. This week it was Fiscalini Farmstead; I'm particularly fond of their nutty San Joaquin Gold.

Liz, I promise I'll remember both your name and your face next time!
