My thanks to melanie and djh for the suggestion...
what might have been some boring seminar lunch, turned in to a delightful little break in the day. I trudged over from the Nikko to Mocca on maiden lane on thursday.. the weather was stellar, just perfect for snacking outside. I ordered my sandwich and an iced tea, and enjoyed a little lunch outside. they had a little jazz ensemble playing, ice cubes clicking in my glass of tea. and a lovely pan bagnat to enjoy. I was hungry so I kind of scarfed the first half, but the second I enjoyed the cripsy, olive oil saturated deliciousness previous posters have mentioned.
it was fresh, tasty.. my only wish might have been for a little chopped egg (not sure if that is authetic but I always like that on my nicoise at home).
anyone have an idea what vegetable is in the little slaw they serve with the sandwich? my best guess was possibly a little julienned sunchoke?
My tab was $12.48 for a sandwich and iced tea (before tip)... a bit spendy for a simple lunch, but it was delicious and I certainly didn't leave hungry.
