Looking for family friendly recs in Oslo

wired2theworld | May 2, 201612:23 PM

I have a friend who is traveling to Norway with her husband and 3 pre-teen children in July. I've offered to help her with some research, though I've never been. Of course I started here, but when I searched, I came up with exactly 3 posts mentioning Oslo.

They will be in Oslo (not sure what part yet, but likely where ever the tourist center is) for 2 or 3 days before going to stay with family in Stavanger. Any recommendations for family and budget friendly places to eat? Any must-not-miss foods to try local to the region? Ways to keep the cost down? Markets?

Thanks!
