Failed Chelsea trip

Decided to go to the Taste of Chelsea even tho my mouth had been numb most of the afternoon from dental work. Crawled over the Tobin on the #111, found the place right off, it smelled great and seemed like a mellow scene. Pulled out my credit card only to find out they didn't take them. Didn't have quite enough cash and since I'm not a real grown up with a purse or wallet, I had no check or bank card on me. Did anyone go? I got a snack at La Gran Cafe (I think) not far away, a tiny joint with a smudged list of a few items, a steam table and empanada looking things which I had. Beef turnover for $1 was pretty good. Also walked into a taco place further up Broadway but again, no menu and just a couple signs that I couldn't read. Thought I might try a quick taco but was feeling much too American. Did notice a couple decent looking bakeries on the other side of the street including Peaches & Cream.

Went for mango frozen yogurt at Cafe Podima on Cambridge St. when I got back which was huge and decent for $3 but there were more ice crystals than I would have liked. Noticed that a new French cafe called Pierot (I think) is about to open further down on Cambridge St. And have the prices at Harvard Gardens gone up? I'm not in the area too often, but their menu seems to have gone a bit more upscale.
