After weeks of hearing my friends raving about their regular lunch spot, I finally joined them. I wasn't expecting much - a fish market in a strip mall(no where close to the ocean) that cooked your fish to order?? Boy, was I wrong. This little fish market that has absolutely NO trace of a fishy smell, lived up to its billing - and more.
Sometimes it really pays to close your eyes and open your mouth. Jon, the owner, recommended the salmon; I had some grilled shrimp as well, and sides of his home made linguine with mushrooms/scallops, and fresh greens. The shrimps were plump, succulent and absolutely awesome. The salmon was equally fantastic, juicy and perfectly seasoned. My companions had the seared tuna which came with a spicy mayo sauce, and the barramundi. Jon said he can special order anything I wanted; I ordered a geoduck clam for a sashimi party on friday, and he will have it delivered for friday morning, cleaned and thinly sliced for me to pick up after work! All this in the valley!
IMO, Jon's fish is equal to any of the fancy seafood restaurants around, and if you find that hard to believe, give it a try; it'll surprise you in a big way!
