FINally, an excellent brunch place that serves til 4pm! I had read a number of CH raves on lunch and dinner here, so today we finally made it for a late brunch.
I suppose if I were more familiar with this relatively new area of Cambridge, I would have realized that this restnt would be modern and chic. But we had only ever been in the area for EVOO and only at night. Somehow the name Abigail's just drew in my head a picture of a funky place . wrrrrong. Clean lines; black, white, rust colored room, walls of windows, lovely patio. Friendly people, comfortable, quiet at our late brunch hour. Service helpful and quick. I much enjoyed my brioche French Toast filled w/ peaches and mascarpone and lovely soft scrambled eggs w/bacon.(YAY, soft and creamy, per my request!)My Love's chevre tomato omelet was well prepared but a bit muted for his taste; the side of pulled pork hash helped alot to elevate his meal. The brunch is billed as a BBQ Brunch and the menu items are certainly skewed that way ; many tempting things to try in the future. Caveat- prices are definitely competitive w/ the South End.
