this cheery take-out place opened a few weeks ago on east 23rd street between 2nd and 3rd (closer to 2nd) on the south side of the street. it's owned by an afghani family with roots in holland. they have another store in huntington LI. the frites had nice potato-ey flavor and texture, the flavored mayo sauces i tried (caviar and basil) didn't wow me but the grilled salmon wrap made to order looked awesome ($6.50 or so). also they sell the full line "spring" fruit juice drinks from israel. (kalustyan's has them too come to think of it.)

maybe they need a name change but the food was good, the disco music cool and the owner enthusiastic and concerned.

any other feedback on this place or the other locations?
