EUGENE: Market of Choice Cheese Shop Update

extramsg | Dec 24, 200510:47 PM     8

Justed wanted to update my review of Market of Choice's cheese offerings. I went and bought some for part of a friend's Christmas present this year while I was in Eugene. The Eugene store is not only much larger than the Portland store, but their cheese counter is actually a counter, not a bunch of shelves against a wall. As a result, I actually got asked several times if I needed help and they were VERY busy. The cheese steward spent 10 minutes or more with me talking cheese and helping me taste several before I found the three I got my friend. She wasn't super knowledgeable, but she was super helpful. And whenever people would come behind the counter, she'd politely take a moment away from me to go and see if someone wanted help.

If the new Market of Choice they're planning in Portland is as good as the one in Eugene, it will be a much more worthy stop than the one in Burlingame.
