I'm not going to post a full report on EG until I've explored the options more fully but I want to clarify a few things that have been discussed in past threads.
-Socca Oven does make a plain socca. It isn't on the menu, but if you ask they will happily do it.
-Although Kirala prominently features packaged sushi they do make fresh rolls and nigiri to order upon request.
-Imperial Tea Court now has a couple of tables and chairs. The baked chicken rolls that rw despised are no longer on the menu. The beef potstickers are excellent.
-Kitchen on Fire is having free classes during open house for the next two weeks. Weekdays from 3-8, weekends from 1-6. It's easy to miss KoF: you have to go though the door and up the stairs immediately to the left of the main entrance.
So far, Socca Oven is the most consistently good spot. There is fantastic chow all over this complex, but many of the places are still finding their feet and some dishes miss the mark. Taste hasn't opened the wine bar yet though it looks like it will happen any day now. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the East Bay, but those who have to cross a bridge may want to give it a few weeks.
