New Englanders: Remember Peggy Lawton Choco Chip Cookies?

They came in a three-pack. Zap them in the microwave for a few seconds until the chips melt and you'd have a treat that was impossible to beat.

Well, I have just discovered that you can still get 'em! The W. family's long-time home delivery dairy, A.B. Monroe of East Providence RI, has them on its Web site:

As an aside, we primarily ate these cookies at the snack bar at our swim club, where we also discovered the joys of Humpty-Dumpty snack products -- cheese corn, etc. -- and also the glorious combination of iced tea and lemonade, which back then we called "Blend" but now know as an Arnold Palmer. Talk about a hotbed for chowhounds!
