My local kitchen store has a very good sale on Emile Henry 2.6 and 5.5 quart flameware stewpots. I have read reviews and people seem to love them. However, I also note a number of complaints about cracking, handles coming off etc. Often these seem to occur after a couple of years or so of use. Does anyone have experience with these items over a few years?
Does anyone have concerns about the tiny cracks (crazing) that apparently occurs and Emile Henry says is not an issue? I know they say they do not use any nasty stuff in the glaze but there may well be heavy metals etc. in the clay and perhaps these could leach through the micro cracks/crazing that is supposed to be a natural development?
Very interested in hearing about any opinions or direct experiences folks may have had.
