I realize what a target of oppobrium it is, but I have had several quite decent meals at Elias' Corner in the past few months. Was there with a group of nine this weekend. Given the studied lack of servility that is a personality trait of the service there, we actually did get served with remarkable efficiency. The dishes varied widely, of course. I'm a big fan of EC's taramosalata, even though it does not exactly exude sophistication; it tastes like a really nice whitefish salad. Grilled octopus and swordfish kabab did not go over well with me (too much and too stridently-flavored "char" around the edges), but grilled sea bass and monkfish were both perfectly fresh, cooked to perfection, and expertly seasoned--really quite remarkable given that prices at EC don't seem to be very high. An added plus was their skordalia, which was not quite like either skordalia--much more the texture of mashed potatoes and much much more garlicky. It got mixed reviews; I loved it. And I give EC points for serving something so ballsy.
