El Toro Carniceria (OC): Doesn't Get Better or More Legit Than This.

Porthos | Dec 6, 201412:18 PM     16

Stopped by for some tamales for DOM today.

This place was packed at 11am. Grab a number (by the door) and expect to wait 10 minutes. Numbers are called out in Spanish.

The tacos are amazing. The largest and tastiest filling I've ever had. About 4x the amount of meat compared to street tacos. Maybe 2x more than anything I've seen.

I ordered the pork ribs, lengua, and cabeza de res tacos. They had goat head as filling but they only sell by per head. All 3 were spectacular. Warning, the pork ribs have little bits of cartilage which I find delicious but if you don't you should probably avoid it.

I challenge anyone to find anything as legit as this place.

For take out hot food, enter through the side labeled "Carnitas". The butcher shop/grocery store side is also excellent. I grabbed two legs of goat for Christmas last year and they less than $40 total.

Come here for the tacos and goat head, go to El Cabrito for the birria.
