El Sitio and Mexican in Jackson Heights

Steve | Jan 27, 2002 12:42 AM

Went for Cuban at El Sitio tonight, and have been going here fairly regularly for the last 6 months, and I can say that the food has been great there. I like the yellow rice with shrimp, and the shrimp with garlic sauce, and their maduros are sweet and not overly greasy. Shrimp are large and taste very fresh.

Love the mellow atmosphere. The chicken steak is great too, full of flavor and never dry.

Tried their steak that a friend ordered, and it was fine as well. Portions are large, as well.

Noticed several mexican places around there, and am wondering if anyone has tried them. El Mariachi is down the block, and there is another 2 around the corner from Sripraphai where I eat once a week, and enjoy very much.

Would like to find a good reliable and clean mexican restaurant, as I go out to Rosyln to the Green Cactus for burritos which I like alot-their food is always fresh. I am very excited to see they will be opening one in Forest Hills, my neighborhood-there is a sign in the window near the Sante Fe Steakhouse.

Best to all,

Steve
