El Rinconcito Yucateco still great (Santa Rosa)

Malcolm Ruthven | Jan 31, 201109:09 PM

I went back to El Rinconcito Yucateco, a Yucatán restaurant in Santa Rosa, tonight for the second time since a chowdown there last June. Two of us shared the Cochinita Pibil with wonderfully-flavored roasted pork and an order of chicken tamales, probably the best tamales I've ever had; the aroma of the masa was wonderful and there was lots of flavorful chicken. It was really too much food for two people and cost $16.90 (menu price). This was a Monday night and still early (6:00 to 6:30) but we were the only customers there. This is very superior food at inexpensive prices. If you appreciate this kind of thing, you owe it to yourself to go there. There's no glitz and be ready for a Mexican soap opera on TV, but that's part of the charm of this place.
