I wanted to report on the great service I experienced at El Burrito Mercado Saturday night. Based on the many Chowhound recommendations I had this place on my list for a long time but one thing or another had kept us away. They were out of the pork platter I had wanted so I got the Barbacua (slow cooked beef roast with cumin). My wife order the pork in green sauce. This dish turned out to be a mistake. We both thought the green sauce was like a mild tomatillo based sauce. It turned out to be more like a jalapeno chilli sauce. It was very hot. What impressed me was that the manager must have been watching us and noticed my wife's sharp reaction to the dish. Without prompting, he suggested that she try another dish on the house. She got a pork mole dish that was very good. At cheap prices, we experienced graceful service.
Tip: El Burrito Mercado is listed in the Happenings book. What a deal!
