Edgebrook Diner Biscuits and Gravy

G Wiv | Feb 13, 2004 07:31 AM

Given the recent talk about Biscuits and Gravy, when I found myself at Edgebrook Diner last Saturday, which is biscuits and gravy day, I couldn't help but order up a plate. I thought they were quite good, the gravy had a lightness to it, not sticky or gummy as some B & G can be. Good sausage flavor, a bit on the mild side for me, though nothing a few sprinkles of crushed red pepper and shakes of Louisiana hot sauce couldn't fix.

Edgebrook Diner only has biscuits and gravy on Saturday and they tend to run out by 11am. If you go and they are out of B & G I suggest my favorite breakfast of hash browns crisp, with onion and giardiniera, along with eggs and sausage. Mike G has commented Edgebook Diner's hasbrowns are the best this side of Wichita, Kansas. (That's a compliment, right? (smile))
