I had the privilege of dining at the new Echo over on Perrin and Champlain in October. My associate and myself really enjoyed this new upscale eatery in the better part of town.

We began with the garden lettuce salads wtih hand made neopolitan salami and fig jam toast and also a bowl of the Curried Butternut squash soup. Both were extremely well prepared.

My entree was the Grilled and braised Sonoma Libery duck with pomegranate and cannelloni beans. For $31, it was a bit over-priced, IMO but very, very good. Associate had the Sauteed fillet of Western Grasslands beef with Dijon mustard jus and roasted fingerling potatoes for $29 which he seemed to really enjoy.

My dessert was the Sierra Beauty apple tart with caramel sauce and cinnamon ice cream. This was great and we decided we would go back just for this dessert and the French Press coffee.

This restaurant re-located from the Tower District and the atmosphere is very stunning and tastefully decorated. We will return. It is pricey but so good. tess a. dozier
