What we're Eating in New Orleans: The Christmas Edition

sugarcube | Dec 22, 201005:39 PM     5

Thurs Dec 23rd, 2010
Dinner: Cochon Butcher
Suggestions for what to order? I'm most excited about going here!

Friday Dec 24th, 2010
Late lunch/dinner: Domenica (John Besh)
3:30pm (yeah, it was the only spot they had left!!)
BUT, we're thinking about Ritz Carleton (6pm dinner) or August (for lunch) instead, if we can get those reservations... any thoughts?

Saturday Dec 25
Happy Christmas!
Dinner: Mila
4pm (purposely early for our walking tour in the evening)
Their rendition of a root beer float sounds tasty. Any mains you would recommend?

Sunday Dec 26th
Dinner: Luke Restaurant
Heard the boudin noir was tasty, pied de cochon fritters... any others?

Monday Dec 27th
Dinner: Nola (Emeril's)
Yeah, I've been reading the boards that the food and ambiance is not as good as at Emeril's New Orleans, but the menu at Nola appealed to my family more.. I hope our choice doesn't backfire on us. (We're regulars at Emeril's in Florida and we saw many menu item repeats on Emeril's New Orleans menu)

Hmmm, now the other question is: where should we eat for lunch? We want to have enough room for dinner so we're hoping for something light(er).
Here our some of our ideas:
Sukho Thai
Verti Marte
Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar and Restaurant
Central Grocery
Willie Mae's Scotch House
Of these places, what are the 'must-try' restaurants we should go to.
We also chose these places because they are in the French Quarter area.. otherwise we would have gone to i.e. Jacque-Imos or Casamento's Restaurant.

Thanks in advance for your help Chowhounders!
