Eat Essex

With the weekend weather promising to be mild, its the best time to stop in at the local north shore eateries that are jammed in the summer. LAst night we went to Essex Seafood and it was outstanding. THe Haddock plate was huge and the fries and rings crispy and flavorful. The fish was caught earlier in the day. Eddys in the Bruni's Markeplace in Ipswich (133) is still waiting to be discovered and it is just a matter of time. Stone Soup in their new location in Ipswich is better than ever; their lunch menu and sandwiches may be the best anywhere. Call ahead for takeout to avoid the noon rush. Dinner reservations are hard to get but sometimes you can call and get in on a cancellation or no-show. Sunday Brunch at the Conomo Cafe in Essex is both satisfying and relaxing while you watch the tide run out while nursing a nice spicy bloody mary. Don't miss the oyster stew. Bon Appetit!
