Sure, the holiday meal is not far off, but I have not been able to find a thread on the subject. So, why not start one, right?
Easter for us retains some of the Eastern European traditions of the family. That means a good ham (City, but from a smokehouse not an over-injected, supermarket, spiral-sliced thing), kielbasa, pierogi (farmer's cheese), mashed potatoes, fresh horseradish and mustard as the condiments - you get the idea (no lamb this year)>
I'm looking for beer suggestions and to open a discussion. My thoughts, at this point, would be to include something distinctly European, perhaps even a Czech brew. Additionally, I have had a hankering for stouts lately which may be skewing my judgment, but a craft offering that I can find without too much trouble here on the East Coast is appealing.
I'm not wedded to either of those, but would like 2 or 3 distinct beers to serve. What about Allagash Tripel? Stoudt's Double IPA? A Bock? It just seems like quite a few ideas make sense.
What do you think??
