Come on everyone I need some tips of small out of the way places that rock. Here are some of my tips.

1. Bo's BBQ in Lafayette. Absolutely the best brisket and links in the Bay (IMHO). Not cheap but worth every penny. If you really love food its worth driving to. Small place gets crowded but Bo McSwine (ya great name for bbq guy) does it right. Recently listed as one of top 100 restaurants in SF Chronicle.

2. George's Giant Burgers in Walnut Creek on Newell. Just the best damn cheeseburger in the Bay Area. No frills place put on your own fixings. Close (in experience) to the Mt. View burger joint whose name is escaping me. The grind their own meat. Fresh, juicy and always great.

3. New Mecca - Pittsburg, Ca. Possibly the best Mexican food in the Bay Area. Anyone living in Walnut Creek north knows what I'm talking about. Down near the Marina on the left hand side of I believe Railroad Road this spot has been an instituation for years. Wonderful fresh Mexican food served hot. The bean dip which comes as a free appetizer is to die for. I've travelled 40 miles just to have lunch there.
