I've lurked in the "Seafood Ranch Market" and "Nanay's Seafood Market." Both on Eagle Rock Blvd just north of Avenue 40. I've even bought some very nice, modestly-priced trout.
I have not a clue about most of the fish they have. Today I bought some "galunggong" - according to Google.com, now a political icon in the Philipeans (think Rooseveldt and chicken in every pot). It looks oily, so I guess I'll broil it.
But, can you help me with information on what to do with all those little finned critters lined up waiting to be bought? They mostly have names I've never heard of and don't appear in my cook books.
I could also use suggestions on picking up the cute little Filipinas I see at the markets.
