Hi all -
I lived up in the Bay Area for a couple of years, and while I was there, I became addicted to sandwiches made with Dutch Crunch bread. It is a larger loaf of bread that has a ridged, crunchy texture on the surface, but is othewise soft, kind of chewy, and slightly sweet.
Strangely, it seems to be a regional bread that I've only see up in the Bay Area - up there, you could find it anywhere, even at the local Safeway, but I haven't seen it anywhere here in LA during the three years I have been back.
If anyone knows what I am talking about, and knows of a bakery/deli/restaurant that offers it, let me know, and help me fix my cravings!
