Was just down in SD from LA this weekend; had dinner at Dussini.
Signature dish is Lobster Mac and Cheese. Ordered it, only to find out that the "lobster" is actually slipper lobster (which is like a flavorless langostine with shrimp texture). not only that, but the slipper lobster meat (which were just balls thrown into the macaroni) was clearly frozen and thawed without any kind of brining or treatment to make it plump. Mushy, bland, shrimp-like chunks in a mediocre macaroni flavored with truffle oil and cheddar. By the way, slipper lobster is really cheap stuff and is what they put in the Rubio's $6 "lobster burrito." I was really annoyed, as this was close to false advertising...
other dish was the meat special, described as three slices of ny steak served with fig and short rib ravioli. sounded promising. of course, three slices of ny steak turns out to be about 1/3 of a steak. it was served with 3 raviolis. steak was cooked perfect medium rare, actually very good. ravioli wasn't bad, either. only thing was that the special was $40. While I have no problem paying $40 for a good dish, a whole prime NY steak with potatoes and veggies was only $32 or so on the menu. Just kind of surprising, but at least it tasted good.
anyway, avoid the rip-off and horrible lobster mac and cheese.
