Durham/Chapel Hill seafood woes

Having hashed out the lack of decent chinese et al in Durham I have another complaint. The almost total lack of a decent seafood, whether cooked in a restaurant or fresh from a market.

I usually end up at Wholefoods for lack of a better option, and had luck once at Costco, but even these two places tend to have slow turnover and questionable quality for all but the most popular types of fish.

I have heard that the Wholefoods in Chapel Hill does a better job with seafood but haven't had a chance to check it out.

As far as restaurants go, I'm not really a deep fried kinda guy so have had almost no luck. Fishmongers, Squids (although I haven't been there in a year or two), Mariner's Cove, Kemps... the best meal I've had so far was a dish of bay scallops from George's Garage, but that's far from a favorite restaurant of mine.

Anyone have any suggestions?
