Duped! Spicy Mina not good!

not usually a complainer | Feb 4, 2006 10:36 PM

Just returned from a meal at the famed destination. Have to say, my palak paneer was crumbled channa in wilted spinach with no spice, served over a puddle of oil. The "assorted appetizer platter" ($8.95) was a greasy melange of fried vegetable and fish bits, indiscernible except for the way-too-fishiness of some bites. We were told that the "chef's special" mixed grill was an assortment from the tandoor but received a sad pile of chicken and shrimp (no lamb or beef) saturated in too-salty curry paste and seemingly microwaved or maybe oven-baked ($19.00). Even the rice was bad: mushy, overcooked and NOT basmati! We were asked if we wanted our dishes spicy or mild and requested spicy, but no one in the kitchen lifted a hand to apply any spice whatsoever. Among the worst $50 I've ever spent. The staff was nice, especially the 12 year old kid that was our primary server.
