We had tea last week at one of the few tea rooms on Cape Cod. It is a charming spot with a great retail area (very high priced). The three of us had the Windsor Tea which is essentially high tea with salmon finger sandwiches vs cuke and butter.

The tea selection is very good. I always get the jasmine while my friend had the Courtship tea. Super blend. My other friend had mint tea and enjoyed it. The date nut bread was good but the cream cheese was hard. Our scones were dry and crumbly and instead of clotted cream (which they sell in the retail) we had whipped cream. The preserves were Smuckers (I overheard the waitress tell another diner). There was one salmon and cuke sandwich per guest and one chicken curry sandwich (on hard stale Frenchbread) and an assortment of uninspired bars: lemon bar, choco chip cookie bar, pecan bar and a nice chocolate cake. Most bars had a decent shortbread base.

I want to love this place but cannot. It is just ok in my book but VERY pretty and a fun place to meet with friends. Once I took my Mom and cousin and Mom had the beef stew which she swears was Dinty Moore. It was mushy and tin tasting. Who knows..The Captain House in Chatham has a far better tea...
