Dumont overrun?

patience not my virtue | Mar 24, 2005 12:52 PM

As a local to it, I remember well when Dumont in Williamsburg opened. Had a few really delightful meals there in a great, warm setting with very nice service. But I've tried to go four times since the start of '05 and have found waits from an hour and fifteen minutes up, with loud, braying people crammed shoulder to shoulder snapping cell phone pics of one another, and frazzled, nasty "hosts" shooing away people thronged on the sidewalk.

Has anyone managed to go to Dumont recently and 1) Get a table quickly (say, under 15 mins), and 2) Eat in peace? Or is this just a new symptom of the ever-expanding stampede through Williamsburg?
