Tried two places for the first time this week and they both just fell flat.
First, we went to San Francisco Bakery on Anderson by Alamo Drafthouse. While the sourdough bread was good, the chicken sandwich I got was just blah. Meat was supposed to be marinated, and I sure couldn't taste it, tomato was sad, lettuce was unmanageable and there was so much mayo on it that it just slip/slid everywhere. Price was about $6 and we both decided that Upper Crust, which is just across the street from work, has much more flavorful food at a more reasonable price.
Today, we tried Snow Pea on Jefferson. Once again, not bad but not good either. Interior was pretty and there were a lot of people, but we all agreed that there was really no flavor to it (even asked for my garlic chicken extra spicy and it was BLAND) and it had an amazing "bloating" effect on us all. We all agreed never to go back and that China Sea is MUCH better and about the same price.
Oh, well. You can't win them all.
